With over 40 years of experience as a senior executive in Brazilian retail companies, such as Carrefour, Sé Supermercados and Dicico. At Grupo Pão de Açúcar, Hugo Bethlem was VP of Sustainability and Corporate Relations and member of the Sustainability Committee. Currently, he serves as an advisor to companies and NGOs, such as: IDV – Institute for the Development of Retail and Akatu Institute for Conscious Consumption. Hugo is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Instituto Capitalismo Consciente Brasil whose purpose is to help transform the way investments and business in Brazil are made, aiming to reduce inequality and where performance based on ESG criteria is one of the fundamental pillars. Hugo holds a degree in business administration from FMU, with specializations in leadership, management, governance, blockchain and innovation from Cornell, Babson, IMD, Oxford and social entrepreneurship from Stanford University.
